Finding Hope…

Last night as I stared at the empty ceiling, I wondered about my life (yes, again!), where did it all go so horribly wrong. And I remembered about this amazingly powerful quote from a recently watched movie. The quote read, “There is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness.” And since the day I have heard this, I have been thinking strongly about it, and perhaps I am slowly coming to terms with all that’s happened and all that has been happening in my life.

But forgiveness requires hope, believing that a better place exists, that the aching emptiness experienced in the everyday activities won’t be with me forever, that one day I’ll again be excited to wake up in the morning and see the sunrise and not shed a tear, perhaps making coffee in the morning will give me the same happiness as it used to or go to a movie with friends, and have loads of fun while at it. Hope is believing that the sadness can evaporate, that if you try like hell to move on with your life, your smile won’t always be forced. Therefore, in order to forgive and to move past fear, you need to find hope.
So, I believe, once our hearts are bruised and burned from a relationship that ended, we have two options: we can close off pieces of our heart permanently so that no one will be able to get inside, ever again. Or we can love again. Deeply. Passionately.  Just as intensely as we did before. Somebody once said, the more you have loved and have allowed yourself to suffer because of your love, the more you will be able to let your heart grow wider and deeper. I think I am understanding the true meaning of these words… 🙂
